An investment property doesn't have to look shabby ...
Columbia Point, Canada Water
The client purchased this single bedroom fixer-upper located within the council building establishment right next to the Canada Water Station. It is conveniently situated within walking minutes to grocery stores, shopping centre, and the beautiful Canada Water Library where many families spend their lovely afternoons. With great views and the obvious advantageous location (zone 2, access to both Jubilee Line + London Overground), there was only one slight problem - the flat was in a really bad condition with outdated and badly damaged finishes, horrific DIY leftovers, and a problematic plumbing that caused leaks and water damages to the lower units. Unattractive and undesirable was an understatement.
I was brought in to assess the condition, to generate a design solution that can help transform this property into something light and airy, attractive and comfortable for prospective tenants to live in. In the end we were able to achieve quite a radical transformation on a very tight budget. This property was later rented out couples weeks after project completion, at a rental price higher than the market value for that area.
